How do you know which value to enter in the method of value swap?

I have tried entering the values but then they keep on saying the answer is wrong.

If you are referring to the C# tutorial, it would be helpful for us if you specified the question you are having trouble with. I could only find a single question involving a swap method, but it doesn't require the passing of values.
If values are required, they are usually specified in the question head. You can also use some XP to either receive a hint or to unlock the full answer.
