C++ and Python - What's next on the list?

I've learned C++ and Python. I'm not too sure what I plan on achieving yet, but I would like to prepare myself by learning more languages? What should I learn next? If you have a suggestion for me, please let me know.

I would second to what ~ swim ~ suggested, you need to play with the language much more be it python or c++. Do big projects with file manipulations, I/O , some good string manipulations, implement some popular algorithm, play with Data structures, maybe make a game or calculator or web scraping project or anything you like. On another note, JS is omnipresent these days and one can definitely take a fun break with JS and play on browser with HTML , CSS & JS. Also the visual aspect of programming is definitely appealing and may help to take the stress from learning boring beginners console output based python and c++. One awesome thing I learnt few years ago was "Little knowledge of many languages will take me nowhere, whereas mastery of just one can do wonders for me"

Improve skills that you already have, always has something new to learn, sometimes doesn't matter what language you use but how you use it and how comfortable you feel using that language to solve your problems

I believe that you should try to MASTER C++ and python first before moving on to another language. Follow what Morpheus said. Thereafter, after you feel that you are ready, you should try to learn another backend like java. Since c++ is difficult, you should be able to learn java. It is also very useful, example for making apps.

It's easy when you are curious to try to learn a lot of languages at once. If you're curious like that about the syntax of different languages etc, it's OK to do all the tutorials on SL as they're easily available. However, as others have said, focusing on one or two at a time is what really helps you gain expertise and become a better programmer.

At school we’ve followed that order so far: C-> C++ -> Java So I suggest C and Java next.

You are awesome, you learned C++ and Python. Its a great achievment. I'll suggest that complete different projects in C++ and Python cuz they are really cool languages. Python has many libraries, you should work in them. Now its the age of Artificial intelligence. You should contribute in this field. In short my suggestion is that make broad your work in these languages. Than learn another language of your interest.

if youre still uncertain about what to learn after studying two of the main languages, perhaps you should take time to think about why you are learning to code to begin with.

Anything. Learning is not sufficient. Solving quiz is not a rich statement until casted to real time scenarios...

If you've learnt python and C++ just through SL tutorials... trust me...you've barely scratched the surface.
