Should I learn javascript?

In modern day programming what is the relevancy of learning javascript?what all are the fields they used for?are they just for websites?

Well just recently I found out that you can actually put web page in apk file. So let's see: are you using Facebook, Gmail, Google etc? Do you want to have a good website? You can build one of your own if you want (and know how) + now you can publish your website in Android, iOS or Windows phone apps. But wait! Without JavaScript you-just-can't-build-a-website....

How about you learn the fundamentals of programming instead of wasting your time choosing the "right" programming language? Just choose one and get started (js has other functionality beside web development such as server side programming and it's also now used in some IOT.....)
