.NET resources for beginners?

Question

I am looking to try out c# for websites and I just feel overwhelmed with the resources at hand. What I mean by this is that I am getting confused between what ASP.NET is and .NET. It would be nice to have a resource to clarify this or even clarify it here thank you;)
