I think with HTML is not possible, I don't know if you can with HTML5 but anyway if you want another day we can do something together, surely you need database MYSQL and javascript or php. Maybe we can comunicate by email.

Abubakar Yerima please, check my codes and tell me if you want something like that. Anyway you need to program more in JS or PHP as I said to give some treatment when somebody do click in that link.

Custom or normal link? For example, if you want to share url to your website you only need to show link to www.yourwebsite.com but if you want a custom link then you need something like
www.yourwebsite.com/index.php?ref=user

First kind is too easy, second, thinking in "points" to user, you need some kind of database to save referral when somebody use custom url.
