If you living and working in windows and microsoft office world, than Visual Basic is the best. It can control all the software that created under Windows Hood. In CAD software there is VBA version, under Windows there are VB.NET, VBScript, and HTA, in Office there are VBA, and VB.NET, in Web server there is ASP.NET with VB.NET. Faster to learn and easier to learn also.
