A:It specifies the font for a selected HTML element.
Q: How does It do the specification?
A: It does the specification by setting value(s) to the font-family property.
There is an hierarchy in the values, because there are two types of font family names:
- font family: a SPECIFIC font family, the name of the family, like Times New Roman or Arial.
- generic family: a GROUP of font families with a similar look, the name of a GENERIC family, like Serif or Monospace.
Details about CSS synthax:
• Separated with commas each different name of a font.
• If the font family name is more than one word, you must use quotation marks to refer to It, which is done to make the letters or words in between to work as a single unit of text, then making a precise reference.
The “fallback” expression means an alternative plan that may be used in an emergency, then, If the user’s eletronic device doesn’t have some font, another can work too.
