If you learn something for one hour then practise it for two hours. I have no idea why you are saying you can't do much coding in Python even after utilizing 8 months on it.......I think you should throw your learning materials away and start writing codes.

(My opinion)
I also learned python for that much time but I cudn't enjoy doing things with it ,there are many projects out there on YouTube and other places ,you can do data science as well but I have interest in web and game development so I just switched to css ,html and js ,I am still into python but not just limited to 1 language now ,and that somewhat keeps me fresh while I know I can still pick up python easily
so what I mean is you can still switch to other language ,not a big deal! unless you are really serious with python then you should look into what else you can do with python ,python has almost a package or solution for every problem out there!

Stop learning now and start cooking codes immediately.
Programming is something that cant be learnt only by learning resources you need to practice a lot.

You should create e.g. your own python module or language. I have created my own language - "Ghost" - and because of that i learned a lot of things in python, now I creating page about python, and when I create python course (now in build), you will be able to learn more with examples.

Now get started on IDE and develop some basic programs and also play lot of sololearn quizzes....they help a lot

You have clearly written that you have studied python for 8 months?
if that's case then learn python again from beginning but this time with some extra afford of solving simple problems using the concepts you learn from the course side by side.

i said i can't do much with it
But I know how to do simple tasks for example simple calculator equations
But this stuff ain't gonna do me any good in the real world
If you know what i mean

Then in your case you need to practice alot try solving some difficult problem it can be anything or even try implementing different data structures and practice is the only to get good at it. If you are looking for the killer secret mantra to get good at programming in a very less time then i can't help.
What do you mean but cant do much?
I visited your profile and I saw only one html code, no idea whats your skill level in python?
