Any of you has tried making web games? How complicated games can be made on web? And what languages do you need to know?

I always wanted to make my own 2d rpg game, like the old good games I used to play in nintendo, Earthbound, Golden Sun, Pokemon, games like these, I'm trying to learn web development for now, because a career as a game developmer doesn't seem very promising where I live, but when I get better at web development, would I be able to make games like these in web?

You need to master javascript very well to create web games.
Just with your html, css and js, you are comfortable to create your web games :)

Rawley what worries me is how complicated games will I be able to make, will I only be able to make simple games like a snake game or packman? If I for example wanted to make a copy of Pokemon, would there be any limitations that wouldn't allow me to do that?

For me, all programming languages can be use to make anything, its just the efficiency of a particular program to do a speciefic task better, faster and easier than the others.
We know js can make simple web games but it also can be used to make complexe games the problem is time..
