Should I skip vanilla JS DOM for JQuery?

Is it worth to learn more about the vanilla DOM(in cases of compatibility(?),etc) or can I just skip to the (seemingly) easy to use JQuery?

Just a note that I'm kinda new to Front End.

No. Master modern vanilla Javascript first. If you want to skip something skip jQuery.
