How can I get back into programming after taking a break?
A couple months ago, I took a break due to burnout after completing various projects such as a Ncat ripoff and discord bots and half completing a music player. Now I intend to get back into doing stuff but experience some Difficulty. For one, I have forgotten some stuff. For two, I procrastinate way too often and three just feel lost. Any advice?

Hi Flow 👏🏻
This can be a big issue sometimes, I've felt burnout too and it 1can be really stressing at times, cos you want to do something, but at the same time don't want to do that thing😂😅
What helps me in such situations is to actually take a break from trying to jump back into the action all at once and instead start with really small steps!
In the first day I can just open up my IDE and look at some of my past codes but not code anything, no matter how much I want to, the next day it can be to just make a for loop to print hello world 5 times, and then nest that loop in a loop to make it say Hello world 50 times, the next day I do something else,...you get the point!
You don't have to go back all in, you need a breather and you should have as much of a breather as you need!
Hope you get back on the coding train and good luckk on your coding adventure ☕ 🍩

I know what u are suffering right now ,u must have forgotten some overall stuff
.I suggest u to start it all from the beginning again but not DEEPLY ,u just need to refresh it,and this time u are not going to face any major difficulty!!
Just revice it again
Hope it helped

Go on Codewars or some similar site and attempt one or two easy katas. Once you sit down and start thinking, you are already back. ;>

Flow It might help to get a sense for where you were prior to getting burned out.
For instance, how many years have you been programming prior to your break?
Did you get burned out from learning or from development projects?
Which languages were you most proficient at prior to your break?
These will help put into context what you mean by, "forgotten some stuff" and "just feel lost."
Did you previously struggle with procrastination or is this a new challenge keeping you from getting jump started back into development?
It would also help to know if you are a student or if you are trying to do this professionally.
Of course... only share what you feel comfortable sharing.

David Carroll I was programming for about a year. I was forcing myself like whenever I had free time to learn stuff which contributed a lot to burnout. I previously and still do struggle with procrastination which I have tried to deal with on multiple occasions however never really fixed. I learned and did programming for a hobby and was pretty dedicated.

don't feel lost in the world of code , just think that i can do it , i can learn it , if your will is strong , then you can learn whatever you want . Just have that confidence!!!

I had the same problem when I got back to programming after 2 months break. Look through the latest materials you've learned, add practice and you can continue in your old rhyme. Goodluck!

Taka a simple looking and imagine what you went to build and then just make sure you keep your balance.
There are many ways you can get back to the game like
■ Watch videos about web design .
■ Take a quick exams on sololearn to know where you are.
■ write some cods to make your hand and minde active.
And Good Luck!!! And don't forget this have fun.
