There is no ideal speed. As long as you can type, it is fine. That being said, I understand that you want to increase your typing speed in order to code faster. Well that's up to you. See how you can maintain a typing speed fast enough while still being able to think.

Pretty decent. But like I said, typing speed is of no use if you can't code properly.

Aphran (Storm Me) I did not say that faster typing is useless. Just that quality of ideas are more important than typing speed. And don't plug your codes like that.

Speed doesn't matter, programming is 95% thinking and 5% writing, but you should be able to touch type, without looking at the keyboard. You can probably already do it even if you think you can't, it doesn't take too much practice.

Hey Sultan I am totally agree with 👑 Prometheus 🇸🇬 because the answer is appropriate... Just I can tell you how to increase speed.... 1. Do not rush when you just started learning. 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙚𝙙 up only when your fingers hit the right keys out of habit. 2. Take your time when 𝙩𝙮𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 to avoid mistakes. The speed will pick up as you progress. 3 Always scan the text a word or two in advance.

What is the best typing speed? I don't know. I'd like to ask you another question. What's your error finding and correction speed? In my opinion this the real coding speed 😂 In my opinion it can be terribly slow and your code won't work until you find all typos. I still miss $ signs in my PHP codes sometimes and it slows me down.

If you are using pc then there are two spots on keyboard. On F and J if you know clearly about alphabetical order you can easily do your work in flow.

You'll become faster the more you get used to your keyboard. When coding, the speed doesn't really matter that much since you'll mostly be typing in bursts anyway. You'll probably spend more time thinking than typing. ya..

Since you are thinking as a developer 20wpm is a good speed to go unless you are a hacker then 100wpm will work for you.

Developers are not stenographers so the typing speed does not matter much, but I still think that 1000 wpm would be awesome.

My typing speed is about average (40 wpm) and I can code fine. As some other people said, learn to touch type. It is very helpful.
