C# is still utilized today for web development with ASP.NET and is a perfectly viable option. Especially with MVC, .NET Core, and Blazor.

Game development is another avenue where C# can be utilized but game development is certainly not the only thing C# is good for.

MaddieL has it right. I would also add that end to end development on azure can be done in c#. So a very real business solution to AD, hosting websites, spinning up vms, ect, can be an azure subscription which would need an azure development team.
