Should I (as a beginner) be able to solve the python course's projects without help?

I'm going through the python course and I'm ok with the learning and all but when I was not able to solve the problem's of module 4 up without searching and cheating. Is it too hard or I'm learning it wrong? I fell like I'm retarded or something!
