Destroyer Have you asked your professors about the rationale of why they still teach this very outdated version of C++?
It's gotta be embarrassing for these professors and universities to know the rest of the world facepalms everytime their students have to post questions about this ancient IDE.
It's hard for the rest of the world to take curriculum programs like this with any degree of seriousness. I can't imagine what they're teaching you guys.

OMG... That was hilarious! 🤣😂

Destroyer Supporting Martin Taylor s answer. U will get some apps for Turbo C++ in PlayStore but i personally didn't recommend that Cos once i tried many of those apps and they are very hard to use .
The better way is to fix ur PC as soon as possible .
Also do keep in mind Turbo C++ is a 1990 version and if u r seeking jobs after 2020 ,it won't be a good idea .

Coding Kitty I have a correction for you. Most of the CS colleges in India uses C/C++ and Java as their main programming languages. Now they've introduced new courses like CS with AI where python is taught.
Actually this depricated Turbo C++ was widely taught till 2019 in our high schools. Now they have switched to Python(for good even though late)...

Destroyer CBSE board never taught JAVA to students. They were also used to teach C++ (1990 version) for a long period of time. It was just few years back when they switched it to PYTHON instead.
As far as collages are concerned, I think you should have a look at their syllabus because when I did I found out that it was not mentioned anywhere that they have to teach us C using turbo (infact the recommended IDE in my syllabus was microsoft visual studio)
When asked from the teachers regarding the same, they replied by saying that the only reason why they are opting for turbo is that this is what students are taught in their schools, and we were free to choose any IDE of out choice.
So just like David Carroll already said it is important that you ask your professors regarding the same, the result might surprise you at the end.

David Carroll although they were expert at explaining the basics but some struggeled a lot with advanced stuff especially when asked out of syllabus domain( and question being out of syllabus was mostly the excuse )
But I think that ended up helping me as it was thier lack of corporation which kindof forced me to put my head in documentations ,google searches,Stack overflow and all , in search of answers and made me much more self sufficient than to be depended on them for any query that I have.
That being said, they never stop students to explore the tech stacks that are not taught in university as a lot of them admits that the syllabus they teach has not been changed for about 20 years and a student should know much more than what is being taught here.

Destroyer I'd be curious to know which version of Java is taught. Hopefully, it's more recent than J2SE 1.2 which was released in 1998. 😂🤣
Still yet, J2SE 1.2 (from 1998) would be more recent than the version of C++ supported in Turbo C++.

The situation in school was completely different story where teachers were more into spoonfeding the students with information, the result of which you can see in some of the questions asked on sololearn which asks for complete solution of a problem in form of pre written code.

Arsenic Your comment suggesting the constant influx of poorly constructed questions as being a reflection of students who are spoon fed information is sort of blowing my mind right now. 🤯
It says a lot about the preponderance of such questions that are so antithetical to that of what should be innate in anyone with a chance of ever becoming successful in the field of software engineering... or hacking for that matter. 😂🤣

Alphin K Sajan okay. thanks for the correction

David Carroll ooh i remember asking about the importance of pointer when i was in college, my professor just throwing the question back to another student like a pop quiz.

Arsenic Lol ...😀😂😂

Thanks for the advice guys....
While preparing for IIT/JEE....to reduce college academics pressure I choosed HSC board(very old in terms of technology).....CBSE board is much better where Python is taught.

Arsenic I'm curious... how solid were your CS professors at programming on the fly?
This excludes any codes they already prepared for class.
How common was it that the professors are able explain concepts beyond the curriculum?
Did you guys ever see your professors struggle explaining something that a student pointed out to be inaccurate?
What were their opinions about other tech stacks not taught in school?
I just wonder if these professors ever had much real world experience to teach from and if they have their own opinions that differed from the curriculum.

Arsenic yea ur right....by mistake I said
Java ....it's Python
Now I'm in HSC board not CBSE bro..

Destroyer on phone you can use sololearn code playground or online compilers like onlinegdb etc.
This would help a lot.
