Is it possible to connect java program with Firebase? If yes, how?

Java program that i mention here is not Android as i want it to be used on computer. I have tried to search it on Internet but i still get stuck when adding dependency in Maven. If you are using Intellij, that would be great help for me. Apart from, after i connect, how to send and receive data from firebase? Thank you. I am really appreciate your help.
