Cmd is very limited, when we talk about the functions

I'm not sure if cmd allows you to do that, but with power shell you can do piping and many more functions that are close to the Unix terminal.

Also PowerShell Is a bit faster than cmd is. =)

If you follow my first and the things is cmd is just a play toy yet powershell is a programming language in the shell

Cmd is not that good for programmers it is handicap
Cmd is just for simple operations and fixing the pc
Powershell is a programming language used in the powershell shell powershell is a programming language used to communicate programmatically to the pc
With powershell you can create an eco friendly app for windows
Powershell has more ability than the cmd
Personally I think you should start with cmd then powershell.
Both are useful tools. The best is powershell
