It is better to learn/use the latest version of python which includes improvements and so on.

There is only a single version of Python running on SL playground. Currently it is 3.8.6 but occasionally it is updated (without prior notice...)
Version 3 is largely backwards compatible, but naturally as the language evolves and new features are added, those won't work on older versions.
Python 2 is already not supported any longer and retired, so you shoud forget about it and move on. :)
