I can verify that yes, you can do this. I made a simple app that calculated my homework, even my tests. Worst part, it was even allowed in some of my tests.

Its probably going to take some time to make this app, so my advice is to add more content as you learn it in class. Make it so your app always have what YOU need to get done quick.
