В SoloLearn возврат каретки ("\r") на любом языке программирования как таков вовсе отсутствует? Пробовал на джаве, с++.

I think it is true. I tried using \r in C and it only printed a space. I also tried \015 (octal for 13, CR) and got the same result. I changed it to \012 (octal for 10, LF) and it gave me a full newline instead of only a linefeed.

Different consoles act on CR and LF in different ways. Some even require both in a specific exact order before acting on them, else they will be ignored.
