What are the purpose for which pure c language is still used

Guys right now also c stand to the fastest programming language but I don't think that approach can still be used anywhere in present content. If there is any place please tell me

C is mostly used for system programming. Operating system kernels are written in C. Linux kernel is one example.

for embedded programming where you can't afford to waste system resources (because you don't have much). One step further in this direction is to program in assembly. That way you can even optimize your program for that specific processor architecture....
