already?
python1 was first released in january 1994, till 1.6 in september 2000
python2 was first released in october 2000, till 2.7 in july 2010
python3 was first released in december 2008, till today 3.10...
if python2 has reached a dead end, we cannot say "already", as python3 is "already" there from about more than a dozen years ;P
what would be surprising, is that python2 is "still" used a lot after "so long"...

python2 and python3 are different, in sense that major version break backwards compatibility, but python2 and python3 are both python, and as every language, latest version is supposed to be better than soonest ;)

yes, so why do you want that python2 will be still under development?
as soon as python3 was released, the dead end of python2 will be near...
since python3 was released more than a dozen years ago, it would be not surprising that dead end is now reached ^^
