Unity is better for 2d games and indie games so I have heard and Unreal is better for 3d games and action games but really both engines can perform well in all areas of game development with a little extra effort. Many AAA games have been made over the years with these game engines and whichever one you choose is a good choice.

Unreal for 3d and bigger games for pc , unity is for mobile games or 2D.
