You must learn HTML before JavaScript.Otherwise you will not be able to understand JavaScript. The best process is learn HTML, then you should learn CSS & after gaining basic knowledge of HTML & CSS you should learn JavaScript.

yes!!! you must learn HTML & CSS before you learn javascript. Because HTML & CSS is the basic for web developing, both are use for the front end developing of a webpage. Javascript is used to provide backend support. Hence it is mandatory to learn HTML & CSS before learning any other web developing tools.

Aside the many reasons to learn HTML and CSS first,, you'll find some familiar syntax. Plus you would be referencing HTML and CSS to achieve some tasks... so yes,, start with HTML and CSS.

I have discovered Dash General Assembly lessons. They are very practical and show you from the start how to use some html5 with some css3. After the first project, you move on to another one which incorporate more of html5and css3. I think it is either the second or the third project that you begin to use Java Script. You learn how to make a portfolio site, then a responsive blog and then a small business site. They do not show you how to use PHP.
