How can I set the textarea size to match the space present inside a cell of table ?

I have a table with some cells one cell contains a textarea I want to know is it possible to force the textarea to occupy the cell completely
my problem is the size of cell is dynamic it changes on request but the textarea dosent and leaves some gap

textarea {
width: auto;
height: auto;
}

dosent work

Include the following CSS:

textarea {
width: auto;
height: auto;
}

or try using vh and vw units with the table and the same for the textarea
