Can anyone suggest a book for java beginners

Except java for dummies qnd head first java because thse book have lot of exmaple and it irritates me a lot

I am not sure how you imagine learning a programming language, without code examples. It would be like learning an actual human language without any sample sentences, just using a dictionary. The code examples are important to understand the patterns, how you can effectively compose large programs from tiny building blocks. Plus the examples invite you to actually try the code fragments in a real program, and experiencing the effect, which is absolutely the best way to learn in my opinion.
Hence your irritation is not acceptable.

Tibor Santa I am not saying that i dont want code example i was saying that in these book there are lot of real life example and i also taking lecture on java online but i want to read some book this is why i asked
