Why do we code? A nobler reason to why we do the things we do...

Question

Tell me, im curious, why do we code? Now, now, im not a philosopher or a sociologist, but im always curious on why we do the things we do and why we do it that way? Its like driving you know, is it just a bunch of hand-feet-eye coordination that we turn the steer, jot the clutch, and hold down the pedal? or is there a greater reason to it? maybe we are doing so as a job-a taxi driver, supporting our family with one passenger at a time. or maybe we are taking someone on a journey to sight see the world.

so...why do we code? is it a job, a passion, a means of achieving something greater? or simply for fun? heck, fun is on of the many complex emotion and thought concept for humans, amongst many; love, disgust, etc but i'm side tracking...

Back to the question, why do we do the things we do...

Well, since I met this world of programming, I knew it woudn't be that easy, but I was always interested and I knew I could do it.

I'd feel very comfortable working with something like this, then I just started learning and lerning, and I ain't planning to stop.

These are my main reasons, since I'm comfortable and confident about what I want.

Well I think the answer can be somewhat simple and of course very advanced, I personally write code because i love all the problems it gives me, the more problems I meet the more I can solve.
as Thomas. A. Edison would put it,
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."
