front-end is directed to the visual and styling, the creation of a webpage itself(HTML). Back-end for storing info, sending requests, etc.

To begin on front-end, you should start with HTML, than CSS and Javascript. Later on you can look for frameworks (like Jquery, bootstrap[...]) to improve your skills and knowledge.

in other words, front-end is basically what you see, and back-end the "behind the scenes" one.
