Star at image

Question

Someone said that the star is based in XP in another discussion on this topic, however I want to know how the star is determined. I know it is not by amount of total XP, because there are people that are high in the world leaderboard who do not have the star. I don’t think it is based on XP in a certain amount of time, because someone in my weekly leaderboard who is near the middle has the star, but not anyone above them except me.
