How can I / should I learn web development in such a way that I can earn money?

Is it possible to learn professional web development from home and earn money? How long will it take? Most of the places that offer good boot camp for web development are expensive. Where can I learn from with no or low cost ? If any one here is earning money in this way or have learnt web development completely from home. Please let us know your journey advices and experience.

As a learner who have no experience in Web-development(I'm going to try it soon), I'm going to give you my answers and suggestions:
"Should I learn web development?" => That depends on your goal.. We cannot make decisions for you.. Web development is a good way to make money, but it requires determination, creativity, hard work, and some team work(especially when you try to build a big&complex project).. If you are interested in making a bank app or something else, you can learn web development.
"Is it possible to learn professional (...) from home and make money?" => Yes, but it's not easy to do that..
"How long will it take?" => If you are planning to learn both basic, Intermediate and Advanced web development, I can be sure that it would take a very long journey. You know, we can not make such advanced and complex project after few months of learning.
