Any reason why old version of C# is used here?

Hey, I am new here. I am wondering if there is any reason why such an old version of .NET is used in the coding environment (not sure if anyone from sololearn actually come here...)? I think only C# version 4 is available and the newest version is C# 7. There are some cool and useful things in newer versions (especially in version 6) which are worth learning for everyone ☺️

Sololearn helps in understanding the basics.. One can upgrade after learning the basics. So versions have not much impact on learning as the basic background is same. Correct me if I am wrong :)
