What programming languages was used in making social media apps such as What'sapp,Facebook etc. And where their creators rich before making this globally used apps?

Facebook was developed by a rich kid. :) But that was not the key to it. Being wealthy helped him because Mark Z was attending Harvard University. Harvard was the key to his success. Had Mark Z gone to community college, he would never have created Facebook.
The real key to his success is he came up with an idea that wasn't being done. He basically "discovered" the concept of letting the users be the content.
If you watch the movie, you'll see that his first version was a really simple app he built in a number of hours. He expanded it to allow people to share relationship status and what they were doing. But it was years before it looked anything like what it does now.
