I know ROR is relatively young, but it's been around for what...10ish years? Do you think we'll ever see another general-purpose language some time soon?

Don't think so. Maybe frameworks.

There are more than 50 languages. provided by

and very few of them are famous. it would be very difficult to overcome these language.

so only thing is left to create frameworks.
