what semester you now?
i can suggest you my trick how to understand java. i think programming class in university is hard to understand. we can't study and understand well while competing whith other or doing deadline task from our lecture.
take some references from internet about how to make applications. like java database aplication, java swing make over, or java android aplication.
learn to make an java apps is more entertaining. than university lecture. you can combine your structured java lecture in campus, while learn make a java applications at home. i think it will help you master java.
