Python with php and mysql?

Question

Can I connect a python app with my web app, so I can use the whole mysql db I have on a server? Any reference would be appreciated. :)
I am sure there's a way, but I just wanted to ask...

you can use web service. Django Rest is a excelente python framework and just comunicate by json
