Can anyone help me understand documentation comments?

General comments are simply just what's in the name: comments. You can write anything in it and it'll get skipped when running the code. You can comment things in your code for yourself (reminders to yourself to edit/add something for example) or add comments to help others understand your code!
Documentation comments are mainly the same, just that you can add characteristics to it. Check out this site (got a nice explanation!):
