Anyone work or study in the physical sciences​ and use code at school or work?

I am a polymer chemist / physicist and I use programs and scripts to simplify my daily work. I have also written control software to interact with serial devices in the past for projects at work. How do you use your code to simplify daily activities at work or at school?

I have used MatLab, ImageJ, Mathematica, MathCad, and IgorPro for many simulations, calculations, and control programs. Many of these programs have their own programming language that allows you to script and batch process functions like data and image analysis, saving time for me to do other things at work!
