If someone is aspiring to become software engineer or in IT field what knowledge should he/she should have?

After campus requirement by IT companies like Infosys, HP, Wipro,tech mahindra ..etc.
what actually they teach in training and what do they expect ....
Eg:computer science engineer may get front end, or back end development...
But what about Electronics and communication engineer or other branch engineers what does he/she get?(if this person is not good in coding or development)
