Ruby course is very refreshing, any recommendations on where to go next?

Where can I find some good real-life code to stusy? Is Ruby on rails still worth getting into? rather than the node.js way, or maybe swift? I'm looking to do websites and interactive apps.

In my opinion Ruby on Rails is a great for backend. Try "Rails tutorial" by Michael Hartl. Its available online for free. I recommend all the series "Learn enough ... to be dangerous".

As Jakub already mentioned, M. Hartls Rails book is one of the best books out there. So, give that a chance. If you want to study about 'ruby' more, give these free to read books a try too https://launchschool.com/books
