What is your goal in the long term? That should determine what you learn in general, and what you should learn first. If you're focusing on software development, then there isn't much point in learning all of the web development stuff you won't even need. You would want to read something like C#, C++, or Java. Likewise, if you're going to be focused on web development, then there isn't much point in learning those software dev langauges first (Java is useful for web dev also though). You would want to learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL first and foremost. So as you can see, depending upon what you're trying to do, will depend upon what the legit answer is. Think about your long term goals and what you want to accomplish.

java or c++ 1st, they are basic languages that teach you most if not all the coding concepts. After them any other language will be a piece of cake.

@Vishal ?? I would ask the community that instead. You're the one that down voted me, which wasn't obvious until right now when you accused me. Anyways, I wasn't debating if you learned HTML or not first; so that very well may be a fact for you. However, if you're implying that it's fact that someone should learn HTML first, then you're delusional. That's completely subjective, and inaccurate unless you're striving to focus on web dev or seeking to do it just for fun. Is HTML easy? Yes. Is it necessary for someone that isn't going into web dev? Not at all, it's actually a waste of time. If you're going to give up on any language because it's hard, then programming isn't for you. It isn't something that's meant for everyone, which is why most people don't do it. It's difficult. It's trying. And it takes a long time. There is no way to dance around that. If you lack dedication, logic, and the will to push through things, then you're in the wrong place.

Its very easy (teached students from class 6/7 onwards in India) also, you can develop habit of self learning by learning easy things first. If you learn tough language first(say JAVA) you may need a lot of time, may be you give up coding and you will be failed to learn to code.
