How can xp in challenge is decided??

Question

Is it through challenger or opponent??
sometimes if I loose a challenge worth 1xp I will loose nearly 30xp
in some other cases even if I loose a challenge my xp will not get deducted!!

that means challenge xp is shown differently for both people??

Suppose you are lvl 15 and challenge a player of lvl 7 , You will get 1 xp with the bonus if you win but if you loose , then you will loose nearly 34 xp depending upon the no. of challenges you and your opponent has completed .

I was going to ask same question. I really don't understand how's been determined.
But all I know is that whenever I loss to someone of a lower level more marks are deducted than if its someone of higher level.
Also it seems if I fail a question that have seen before more marks are deducted than if its a new question I haven't come across. But not sure yet.

@Nikky how does the system determine if you are an expert?
is it by your level or the number of challenges you have won?
