do i need to install a c++ compiler after i install codeblocks?

I'm have trouble with codeblock, every time i try to build and run it tells me the compiler is invalid so I go to global compiler settings and i can't find anything. Is there a better IDE compiler i can use? if not how do I go the issue im having?

There is also Dev-C++ but if you can, use Visual Studio.
Personally i have not ever tried Codeblocks but i think the compiler is included

If you did not install a version with mingw

Uninstall it and get one with mingw included

yea i just downloaded visual just having a hard time figuring out what my friend wants me to install. we're going to make a game together using the unreal engine
