Why Linux is better for coding?

I don't know a lot about Linux OS but often hear that professional programmers use it. So what is the advantage of Linux and shall I start to use it as a beginner programmer?

For C and Assembly Programmers, Linux might be better because they can intergrate their OSs with their own code and you can write scripts (Python, Shell etc.) to automate tasks like scheduling and I don't believe you can do that on Windows. Linux is the best for programmer's... - My opinion

can use built in scheduler in windows to schedule tasks.. can also use Python and powershell scripts. most IDEs are multiplatform so you can do similar projects in windows, Linux and Mac. the Linux distros are free (unlike ms windows) and can be run on a cheaper computer than an Apple so you might say that it is cheaper to code on Linux if you already own computer and are familiar with a certain OS, then I suggest you keep using that OS rather than try to learn a new OS just because someone else likes using it. for the record, I use both Linux and windows for coding
