no one language is best.
some languages are better at something than another... and some languages are more popular then others

Deepesh: if you are wanting to make a standalone program, I'd start with java or c++
if you want to make a webapp, start with HTML then JavaScript.
there are many threads in the forum about this topic but which language you learn first depends on what your goal is for programming
