Why do players reject challenges?

Question

Why do players reject challenges? Are they afraid to lose and lower the rating? I never reject the challenges of other players, and I'm not afraid to lose and ruin my rating. On the contrary, I study on my own mistakes, learn new things or fix badly mastered material. Explain to me the reason for their refusal, please, because I do not understand why the challenges was rejected.

I think like you, I don't understand why to reject challenges, in general. I get refused almost 1/3 of ongoing challenges, that's ok as a training but I think it could be better if both players agree and play. One player with lower skills have nothing to lose, always win XP, independently to if he wins or loses the challenge, but there are many people refusing and I really don't understand why. Maybe they don't know that the algorythm have in mind which level is every player and thinks they have not chance to learn something?

Well there are a few possibilities I can think of:-

✅ They are aiming for the winning-streak badge
✅ They are not ready for it and *politely* decline the challenge (well it's still better than letting it expire while active right?)
✅ They don't want you to lose your hard-earned EXP 😂

Еще не добралась. Я сейчас погружаюсь все глубже и глубже в CSS, он мне понравился. А вот после хотела заняться препроцессорами. Или их лучше с СSS совместно изучать?

Да нет! Лучше сначала голый CSS освоить хорошо! Препроцессоры расширяют CSS элементами программирования: переменные, миксины, вложенные правила, операции, функции за счет чего CSS-код становиться более читаемым и реиспользуемым.

possible lack in knowledge , intimidation of losing maybe , hell some of us just aren't competitive. (not saying I'm not) but should it matter if someone rejects a challenge? I mean we all have free will and the right to say yes or no. I always just challenge someone else.
