Some of my thoughts regarding Delphi. As a Language it is just great. I thought about learning it but in the end abandonded the idea, because:
1) It's rarely used in real life scenarios (Though I know a succesful company with its main product is written in pascal. And the product I like a lot)
2) To use this enviroment you either use the g'old delphi free version for win or use the up-to-date multi-platform-version for a absurd amount of money that you have to pay every year that only makes sense for larger companys.

I think it makes sense to use delphi as a tool to make a fast prototype of your product.
Or you learn the language when you are in a situation where it is really needed.
