kotlin vs java PLEASE READ!

I've seen many inaccurate comments on the post linked

kotlin and java can't replace each other, they both run on the JVM

kotlin is like the whole groovy/scala thing (except kotlin is easier), and can work with java to create "strong java"

kotlin can be used for anything java can be used for (both on JVM), just look for the right API (java APIs even work with kotlin)

JAVA IS NOT DYING BECAUSE OF KOTLIN!
its like saying algebra is gonna kill geometry

They are pretty much the same thing, except kotlin is newer and closer to python in syntax

kotlin can even be used with javafx (kotlinfx is a thing though)

also, I saw comments about python.

python wont kill java either, they are used for different purposes. Again, its like saying algebra will kill geometry

One last thing, I saw another comment about javaSCRIPT

java and javascript are two COMPLETELY different things (thats a whole nother post)

There were also some comments that Kotlin JS could replace JS on the web

In general, I think that there are accelerated comments about a technology that is only emerging in comparison with other languages that have been in use for a long time
