Does somebody have experience with the LUA scripting language?

This scripting lang is becoming popular as an embedded interface for an program's extension or adding extra custom logic.It is worth to learn this lang?

It is worth it, unless you are gonna use it for standalone apps, then no, it is hard to program guis and others.

I perhaps only know how to define variables. ex: local myVariable

well,good start:)I know that it is possible to write dissectors in wireshark and also in other tools.It is simple way how to add some extra logic.I have no written any script yet:)I'm finding out some experiance:)

Wireshark huh? i have that, only to trace ips.
