Ruby is dying. You can get a job with it, but you're limited to the On Rails framework. You have more job potential with Java and JavaScript. Note that those two are not a family, they are only similar in name and profitability. JavaScript stole the name from Java to get popular (It worked).

ruby is not limited, but the job market for it is. any ruby job you see will likely be for on rails.
