Best way to create SVG objects?

Question

So guys I've been thinking about the proper way of creating svg shapes, I myself can create svg with just html code but for complex shapes it will be forever with all the animations and rounded corners...so I thought if I should use Adobe Illustrator to start making the svg shapes since I can copy the html code after I'm done.
What do you think guys?
Is there a better and a faster way?

Nothing better than SVG tools but outcome will be bigger in size...
